2007 - Asia - Day 10 - Beijing, China

After breakfast, we drove to see the Terracotta warriors. It was an amazing place. It is called the 8th wonder of the world. It is 2200 years old. We saw 3 different excavation pits. A lot of it had not been excavated yet. The warriors are all slightly larger than life size, and there are believed to be over 6000 of them. They were discovered around 1970(?) when some local farmers dug a well. We also had lunch there. We then drove to the airport and flew to Beijing. Beijing is the capital of China and has a population of 10 million. They served us dinner on the flight, so when we got to Beijing and went to the restaurant for dinner, I could not eat anymore. I also bought more artwork at the restaurant. It is of beautiful purple flowers. I love it. Once back at the hotel, Mark, Michael R. and I walked around Beijing for an hour, and stopped at McDonalds for ice cream. They did not have McFlurry’s, so I got a fudge sundae.
